Sam Stinnett and Casey Kiernan have officially been crowned the 2014 United Skim Tour (UST) champions, in Newport Beach, California.

It's all over. The world's best male and female skimboarders have been crowned in the last event of the season, the Balboa Oktoberfest.

The final stage was taken out by Blair Conklin, who secured his first contest victory of the year to finish in third place, in the final rankings.

The world title race had already been decided in Santa Cruz, where Austin Keen had a great opportunity to add another title to his museum, but Sam Stinnett kept winning heats, and making it harder for his direct opponent.

In the end, a third place in the Oktoberfest 2014 was just an exclamation mark for Stinnett, who claimed his third world skimboarding trophy.

On the Women's side, Casey Kiernan sealed the deal with two victories in the first two competitions. She is the 2014 UST Women's world champion.

The International Olympic Committee (IOC) approved surfing's qualification system for the Tokyo 2020.
