Lightning storm lights up final Texas Skim Jam

It was not easy, but the Texas Skim Jam eventually celebrated its 10th anniversary. And apparently, it was the last one.

The event hosted by Skim2Live went underway at Cypress Creek, a well-known stream that flows from Snake Creek and Mound Creek to its mouth at Spring Creek, in the heart of Texas.

However, the flatland skimboard contest had its setbacks. According to the organization, Mother Nature decided to send out a lightning storm which halted the pro competition. The amateur division was taken out by Ben Hayman.

Blair Conklin claims the 2017 Internacional de Skimboard

Blair Conklin has taken out the 2017 Internacional de Skimboard, in Santa Cruz, Portugal.

The 2016 United Skim Tour (UST) champion returned to the Portuguese shore breaks and grabbed an important win. The event had challenging wave conditions, but the riders kept the bar raised high.

In the final against Afonso Ruiz, João Girbal, and Juan Luis, the American skimboarder posted a near-perfect score of 19 points.

Logan Davidson claims the 2017 DB Pro/Am

Logan Davidson conquered the 2017 DB Pro/Am, held at Dash Point, in Federal Way, Washington.

The 14th annual skimboarding competition featured three divisions - Pro, Amateur and Under 16 - and once again attracted the stars of flatland skimming to the northwest.

As always there were plenty of obstacles to overcome, including kicker ramps and the giant DB Skimboards logo.

The International Surfing Association (ISA) submitted a declaration of intent to the International Paralympic Committee (IPC) for the inclusion of adaptive surfing on the 2024 Summer Paralympics program.
