Sam Stinnett: world skimboarding champion, again

Stinnett dominated the skimboard action at the 2012 Vilano Pro/Am under pumping swell conditions and secured the world title.

Hurricane Isaac brought harsh weather conditions to Vilano Beach. With 20-30mph onshore winds, amateurs and professionals gave their best to beat meteorology.

North Florida attracted many new skimboarders to the quality shorebreak. The shoulder-high waves of the second and third days were enough to overcome the bumpy rides.

Sam Stinnett is definitely on fire. With highest scoring heats, he was simply unbeatable. Tim Fulton had to settle with a second position, followed by Jason Wilson.

Stinnett is the 2012 world skimboarding champion, as he gathered enough points before the last events at Santa Cruz and Balboa.
