Five young surfers have been crowned winners of the 22nd Jesus Surf Classic, part one, held in Croyde, United Kingdom.

The weather and swell conditions forced organisers of the Jesus Surf Classic 2014 to run the event in two different dates, delaying the Men's Open, Masters and Boys Under 18 events until 11th October.

Seventy surfers battled for glory in five divisions in memory of former Christian Surfers and skateboarder leader Phil Pechonis.

The Women's Open category was taken out by a new name - Zoe Sheath. Flora Lawton secured second place, with Charlotte Bayliss and Andrea Lawrence, in third and fourth respectively.

The strong contingent in the Women's Under 18 category saw local girl Flora Lawton win the trophy, ahead of Niamh Mathias and Beth Wallace.

A fantastic Under 16 final saw Max Payne take the win over Liam Murray Strout, Will Bailey, and Garin Clay. In the strongly contested Under 12 final, Noah Capps surfed well and claimed the title ahead of Sol Hawkins, Max Hudson and Tom Reeves.

Kit Innes conquered the highly competitive Under 14 division, ahead of Finn Collins, Leo Reeves and Noah Capps.
