Tom Veiga: making waves with basic colors

Tom Veiga is a Brazilian surf artist. Waves are his life. Literally.

He may only be in his mid-30s, but Veiga is an experienced craftsman. Tom worked for several years in advertising agencies. Later, his design skills met the waves, and today the Brazilian artist lives of his own business.

Tom Veiga's colorful patterns have been ported to bikinis and t-shirts (Billabong), skateboards (Globe), sandals (Hawaianas), compact discs (Planta e Raiz), boardshorts (Reef), event posters, and magazines (Surf Portugal).

His surf-influenced designs - posters, postcards, modern canvas - are sold in his online shop. Lately, Tom has been exploring the incommensurable world of wood art painting, with charming results.

Veiga's style is quite noticeable. The basic colors, the simple patterns, the contrasts, the waves, the sun, and the palm trees are in almost all his artworks.

Can you spot Rio de Janeiro, Nias, Jeffreys Bay, Bells Beach, Mentawai Islands, Waikiki, Mundaka, Huntington Beach, Hossegor, Pipeline and Chicama?
