The Oakley Lowers Pro 2015 will host a surf clinic for military veterans, at Doheny State Beach in Dana Point, California, on the 26th April.

The surfing contest has partnered with Infinite Hero Foundation and Team Red, White and Blue (RWB) to develop a weekend of activities for veterans. All participants are invited to watch the pros in action at the opening day of competition.

"The Oakley Lowers Pro is located in a prime surf location on land owned by the United States Navy and adjacent to Camp Pendleton," underlines Cuan Petersen, marketing director at Oakley.

"While hosting some of the world's best surfers from around the globe during our event, we believe it is also important to acknowledge the relevance of this historic location and give back to the veterans who selflessly protect our freedom."

Oakley athlete-autographed surfboards will be auctioned online to raise money and awareness for Infinite Hero Foundation. The first World Surfing League (WSL) Qualifying Series (QS) 10,000 event of the season runs between April 28th and May 2nd.

It is one of the sport's most forgotten disciplines. The stand-up bodyboarding movement had its heyday between the late 1980s and early 1990s, but it continues to be an exquisite art.
