Dane Reynolds: sampling fonts and TV screens

Dane Reynolds is a B-side surfer because he never wanted to be an A-side competitor. And we just love him the way he is.

Have you got 11 minutes to spare? Watch "Sampler" and get truly inspired for your upcoming session. The (only) surfer from Ventura, California, seems to excel in laid-back moments. When there's no pressure, no scores, and no one's watching around.

"Every time you do something, the expectation is that whatever you do next has to be better. Do you understand how unsustainable that is? The pressure caused by this principle has stressed me out, burned me out; I eventually cracked, hid out, dropped out, turned away," writes Reynolds, in his introduction to "Sampler".

"Sampler" is a collection of surfing Dane has done the past year that didn't make it into "Cluster." It is definitely valid because we learn something from it, and because it is quite entertaining.

"Yeah, it is 'B-sidey' but that is not a disclaimer. I'm proud of it. Every moment can't be your best, the waves aren't always perfect, the more you expect the more you're disappointed; do what you can with what you've got, surfing's an art, there's no winner and no loser, no right or wrong way to do it," concludes Dane Reynolds.

Whether you think of a kite as a wing or a sail, you want it to be lightweight, resistant, waterproof, but also stiff and flexible at the same time, so that they could respond to all flight requests.
