The Wave Conjurer: surf comics at its best

Maxi González is an enthusiastic comic scriptwriter and a passionate surfer. "The Wave Conjurer" is his first adventure in the surf comics circle.

Surf comics are rare. But they're out there, somewhere in the underground and alternative world of visual arts.

According to González' plans, we will see more surf-inspired cartoons published under the Surf & Comics label. But the first release - "The Wave Conjurer" - is too good to be true.

"I was fortunate enough to persuade two incredibly talented artists to participate in this madness - Juan Martínez Alarcón, the illustrator, and Carlos Rios, the colorist," Maxi González explains.

"The Wave Conjurer" dissects what the passion for surfing really is - an endless search for perfect a wave that, sooner or later, will come our way.

It's never an easy thing to do, but sometimes we really need to sell a surfboard if we want to get our hands on a brand new stick, equipped with the latest shaping innovations.
