A Portuguese water sports company announced the opening of Shapers Nest, a coworking space for independent surfboard shapers.

The idea was developed by Xhapeland and will become a reality in Cascais, a seaside town with a long tradition in surfing and World Surf League contests.

The Shapers Nest is open to all craftsmen interested in boosting their businesses in a high-end manufacturing facility. The structure features two factory-integrated shape rooms and an independent office for designing and customer service work.

Independent shapers are invited to use the as long as they purchase a blank cutting, fin box placement, painting, glassing or sanding service from Xhapeland.

Anyone working at Shapers Nest will have access to the technologies and tools for producing surfboards, skimboards, kitesurf boards, wake boards, and stand-up paddleboards, including vacuum or infusion glassing methods.
