Finn Cox and Emma Cattlin have taken out the 2018 Taj's Small Fries in Yallingup, Western Australia.

The duo has successfully defended last year's titles in the 16 & Under Boys and Girls divisions. The last day of competition got underway under sunny blue skies and gorgeous two-to-three-foot waves at Smith's Reef.

"It's just been the perfect location for the contest. I can't believe that we've never held the comp here before. I couldn't be happier with how things have gone in 2018. Long live the Small Fries!" expressed Taj Burrow, the event's patron.

The 2018 Taj's Small Fries crowned no less than seven champions across seven young age divisions. Surfers unleashed all their talent and potential, proving that the future of Australian surfing is in good hands.

In the highly competitive 16 & Under Boys final, Seth Van Haeften and Finn Cox provided a fantastic performance with multiple waves ridden and high scores being thrown by the judges.

"It's been such a great event and today was the icing on the cake. It was good to surf a final against my mate Seth. I can't believe I've won it twice in a row," said a very stoked Finn Cox.

On the 16 & Under Girls category, the local young gun Emma Cattlin overcame a very in-form Maddie Cawood in a tight battle.

"I'm so happy. Smith's is my local break. It's my final year competing in the Small Fries and winning again means everything to me. This is where I started competing as a little kid and is cool I can finish as a winner," concluded Cattlin.
