40 countries prepare for the 2010 International Surfing Day

International Surfing Day 2010: everyone is invited to catch some waves

Summer is coming for some of you and is ending for others. All riders are in the water and the thousands of organizers of the International Surfing Day hurry to prepare the big day of Sunday, June 20. About 40 countries are getting ready to welcome more than 200 events.

This day aims to make discover surfing as a sport and culture thanks to many activities offered all around the world.

Initiations, contests, products testing, demos, actions for environmental awareness, beach games, parties... Here are some activities organized by all the surf community (schools, clubs, associations, shops, shapers, riders...).

EuroSIMA (European Boardsports Industry Manufacturers Association) supported by the ESF (European Surfing Federation), Surfrider Foundation (non profit organization for the protection of the environment) and S.A.S (Surfers Against Sewage) plans to make this 7th edition a new success!

This year again, a big photo & video contest is organized:

Photo contest:
Your International Surfing Day. Immortalize some moments, landscapes, actions... all that marked this day and send it. You are totally free...no limit!!

Video contest:
Make a video which will sum up your International Surfing Day. It must not exceed 3 minutes. Post it on Youtube and send the link.
