Bruce Irons has announced that he will leave the ASP World Championship Tour no matter how he finishes in the 2008 year-end ratings.
"I'm going back to being a freesurfer," Bruce says. "It's what I was meant to do."
Although this was a difficult decision, Bruce is confident that his choice to leave the competition behind is the right one.
"I prefer to go back to how I started my whole surfing trip, which is to go on surf trips and make videos."
Volcom is 100 percent supportive of Bruce's decision, and we look forward to the next step in his career.
