Kay Lenny: smile, you're world champion again

Kay Lenny has conquered the 2011 Stand Up World Championship for the second time in a row. The young waterman was crowned during the AlmaSurf Mormaii International, in Brazil.

The SUP event was won by Brazilian surfer, Leco Salazar. Lenny finished runner-up and showed some sick aerials in the shorebreak. "So stoked on getting this title. I really wanted to thank my family for the continued support since day one", said Lenny.

The final heat was intense because everyone thought Salazar could take the title from Lenny in case of a victory. After calculating the title race chances, it was clear Kai Lenny had secured his second consecutive SUP world title.

Kai's input and progressive surf style has helped shape his championship-winning boards: the Hokua 8'0" and the Hokua 9'8" Gun, by Naish.

With his first place in Maresias, Leco Salazar has secured second place overall in the 2011 Stand Up World Championship. The battle for third through tenth positions will be decided on the Big Island, from 26th November to the 4th December.

When you reach the "End of the Road," you're all by yourself. Are you sure you're ready to get barreled at Tahiti's infamous Teahupoo?
