Bud Light Lime Surf Series: a cold beer gives you wings

Sunny Garcia and Bobby Martinez will be participating in the Bud Light Lime Surf Series (BLLSS), between 1st-3rd June, at the Harbor, Oceanside, California.

"It’s nice to be a part of this contest," said first-time participant Bobby Martinez. "The format seems fun and there are a lot of good surfers competing, and I’m appreciative to have the chance to join the Series."

Actually, there will be 40 surfers battling for victory, in an unorthodox format which brings together participants from various surf genres around the globe, offering them the chance to compete at least twice before cuts are made following the second round.

Additionally, each surfer’s top-two scores are counted, regardless of which heat they competed in during opening rounds, allowing them to focus on bettering their own scores as opposed to competing directly against one another.

The Bud Light Lime Surf Series launched in 2011 with two events on the California coast, bringing together 32 top men and eight women to compete for more than $100,000 in total prize purse.

Dylan Graves, Eric Geiselman, Gavin Beschen, Joel Centeio, Kalani Robb, Kekoa Bacalso, Nate Yeomans, Nathaniel Curran, Timmy Curran, Keala Kennelly, Lisa Andersen and Serena Brooke are some of the invitees.
