Gabriel Medina: he took the aerial pills before hitting Supertubos

Gabriel Medina has fired up Supertubos in the warm-up surf contest held in Peniche, while the super swell travels through the Atlantic to boost the Rip Curl Pro Portugal 2012.

Gabriel Medina brought his entire aerial arsenal from Brazil. The talented young surfer stormed the Buondi Best Move Expression Session, staged in front of a large crowd of spectators, on a sunny Peniche day.

"Funky Cold Medina" pulled and completed a perfect Air Reverse, in the small but fast breaking waves of the Portuguese beach break to claim the first victory of the event.

The 19 year-old said he managed to pick off the best wave of the session to perform the day's best maneuver and defeat all nine opponents.

The Rip Curl Pro Portugal is a crucial stop for both the hunt for the 2012 ASP World Title as well as the requalification campaigns of the world’s best surfers.

When you reach the "End of the Road," you're all by yourself. Are you sure you're ready to get barreled at Tahiti's infamous Teahupoo?
