Christian Surfers: faith and passion in surfing

"Groundswell" chronicles the history of Christian Surfers with stories and photographs of the international surfing movement.

Christian Surfers were launched in Australia in 1977.

Since then, the institution has spread its network of missions to over 30 nations, comprising over 1000 volunteer leaders who spread the love of God through all levels of surfing.

"We felt marginalized by the surfing community because we were Christians and marginalized from the church community because we were surfers," explains Brett Davis, Christian Surfers founder and director.

"Groundswell" displays a complete collection of snaps and detailed stories of more than 30 years. Andy Irons is not forgotten, too.

"I was just 18 years old and brand new to this 'Jesus' bloke, and all we knew was that we appreciated a new direction in life," Brett said.

"We were concerned for our surfing mates and wanted to make a difference."

Faith, heaven, belief, and peace are part of surfing life.

"Groundswell" is a story of ordinary people in their ordinary settings trusting God to do extraordinary things.

It is available as a 250-page paperback or 260-page coffee-table photo book.
