Greg Emslie: king of South African surfing

Greg Emslie is the 2012 South African surfing champion. Nikita Robb and Heather Clark tied in first place in the Women's division.

The surfer from East London has conquered the Men's Pro Surf title for the third consecutive time. Dan Redman and Chad du Toit, both from Durban, were second and third respectively.

The Guidos SA Open was the last stage of the year. The surf contest held in Port Alfred crowned Dan Redman in the final heat.

If Greg Emslie had ended fourth or lower, Redman would grab the top honours. Over 40 surfers from all parts of South Africa made the journey to Port Alfred. In the Under 20 division, the South African champion is Michael February. Tanika Hoffman, from Cape Town, won the Under 20 Girls.

Talented Matt McGillivray won the Under 16 Boys title. Tahra Uren finished first in the Under 16 Girls. The Under 14 Boys champion is Masencamp. Koby Oberholzer tied with Max Elkington in the Under 12 Boys division.
