Natxo Gonzalez: fearless at 17

Natxo Gonzalez has taken the Arnette Punta Galea Challenge 2013, the first Qualifying stage of the new Big Wave World Tour season.

The rider from Bizkaia, who is only 17-years old, has been awarded a wildcard to surf at the upcoming Big Wave World Tour main event, in the Latin America.

The Arnette Punta Galea Challenge 2013 saw heavy wipeouts, beautiful long rides and tense moments. Problems with a jet ski almost ended in a cliffs of Punta Galea.

"I decided to get my spot at the peak and stay quiet. My sponsor brought me a new surfboard and everything worked really well, the board responded perfectly and thanks to that I surfed with confidence. I think it is the secret in order to do well in these  kind of conditions", says Natxo Gonzalez.

Big wave surfers drew lines in 40-foot faces and medium-force winds. Ramon Navarro secured second place and cashed in 2000 euros at the Arnette Punta Galea Challenge 2013.

"It was big and kind of bumpy. Local surfers made good use of their knowledge of the wave and positioned themselves better. It was big, sets were around seven meters and they were really strong", stated Navarro.

The Big Wave World Tour 2013 heads to the American Continent. Chile or Peru will be the next stages.

Whether you think of a kite as a wing or a sail, you want it to be lightweight, resistant, waterproof, but also stiff and flexible at the same time, so that they could respond to all flight requests.
