Julian Wilson: perfect Alley-Oop

Julian Wilson has been crowned the Mr Price Pro 2013 champion, after defeating Jordy Smith in the final held at Ballito, South Africa.

The pearl of the North Coast delivered great rides and surfers could easily display all their skills in a high-scoring final. Two Dream Tour riders fought for glory, in the golden surf town.

The final of the Mr Price Pro Ballito 2013 opened with a good wave from the Australian charger. Smith kept answering with solid rides and support from the crowd out in the beach.

The problem was "that" Perfect 10 by Julian Wilson. A perfect Alley-Oop, a trick that seems to be paying off in pro surfing contests. Flawless victory for the young Aussie.

"I'm really happy to get a win. It's my third time competing in Durban and I've had good results. I really enjoy spending time here", says Wilson.

"It was a fun final. We had some testing conditions throughout the week, but today it was pretty fun. Jordy put the pressure on me pretty heavily on me from the start".

"It's the first time I've landed that air in a contest. I was pretty happy to get a perfect score for it. I had to do something and that's what I needed to do".
