Kelly Slater: Huntington Beach creativity

Kelly Slater and Dane Reynolds have been confirmed in the 2013 Vans US Open of Surfing, to be contested between 20th-28th July, in Huntington Beach, California.

The surfers from Cocoa Beach and Venture will be joined by defending event champion Julian Wilson, progressive standout Jordy Smith, two-time event champion and Huntington Beach local Brett Simpson, and many more.

IMG, the owner of the 2013 Vans US Open of Surfing, has revealed that there will be additional wildcards, including Dylan Graves, Nathan Florence, Kanoa Igarashi, Leila Hurst and many more.

The 2013 Vans US Open of Surfing is a pivotal point on the ASP World Tour for both the Men and Women. For the Men, a victory in North America's only ASP Prime event will mean valuable points towards qualification for the coveted ASP Top 34.

For the women, the 2013 Vans US Open of Surfing marks the second to the last stop on the Women's World Championship Tour (WCT).

It will also be an ASP Pro Junior stage and the Vans Joel Tudor Duct Tape Invitational will display the creative expression and style of longboarding, with world-class talents such as Alex Knost, Jared Mell and Tyler Warren.
