Biarritz: no waves, no pro surfer girls

The 2013 Roxy Pro Biarritz has been cancelled due to lack of swell and waves.

The French event will be held in conjunction with the Men's Quiksilver Pro France, running from September 24th-30th, 2013.

It's rare, but it happens. After five days of minimal swell, the 2013 Roxy Pro Biarritz forced all female surfers to fly back to their countries.

"We've enjoyed great success with waves during this window in the past but were unlucky this year. That said, we'll look forward to seeing the ASP Top 17 return to France in September", says Lisa Andersen, Roxy Pro contest director.

The next stop on the 2013 ASP Women's World Championship Tour will be the Vans US Open of Surfing in Huntington Beach from July 22nd-28th, 2013.

Thirty Formula GPS kiteboarders battled it out on the mountains of the Alto Sangro, Italy, for the second leg of 2018 IKA Snowkite World Cup.
