Covelong Point Classic Surf Contest: surfing is growing in India

The Covelong Point Classic Surf Contest will be run at the famous Covelong Point, Chennai, in India, between 27th-29th September.

The event will host surfers from all of India's coastline, competing against each other under different age categories. The aim of the event is to promote surfing as a premier water sport activity in Tamil Nadu.

The Covelong Point Classic Surf Contest will also provide workshops and introductory classes on surfing, giving an opportunity for any water sport enthusiasts to come and enjoy the spirit of surfing and it's lifestyle.

Apart from surfing, there will be plenty of other activities such as live music, yoga, food and family entertainment.

The contest is run by the Covelong Point Social Surfing School in association with Surfing Federation of India.

Finn McGill and Vahine Fierro claimed the 2017 World Surf League (WSL) World Junior Championship at Bombo Beach, New South Wales, Australia.
