The newly-created Association of Paddlesurf Professionals (APP) has announced the schedule for the inaugural 2017 APP World Tour.

The professional stand-up paddleboarding (SUP) world circuit has changed its name. The former Stand Up World Series (Racing) and Stand Up World Tour (Surfing) have been rebranded to APP World Tour.

The new insignia controlled by Waterman League Group decided to run a single world tour for the SUP racing and SUP surfing.

"The Stand-Up World Series and Stand-Up World Tour have been known since their inception in 2009 as crowning the very first professional world champions for both men and women. Their legacy now continues under the new APP World Tour banner as a single property that we can focus 100 percent of our resources on," explained Tristan Boxford, CEO of APP World Tour.

"Paddle surfing is one of the world's fastest-growing participatory sports and we feel that the APP World Tour will continue to appeal to a rapidly growing number of fans and professional athletes while embracing the mass participation component of our events."

The 2017 APP World Tour features eight stops in Hawaii, Japan, Germany, USA, China, and Spain.
