CJ Hobgood: always there with an helping hand

CJ Hobgood and Justin Quintal have conquered the 7th Annual Slater Brothers Invitational, in Cocoa Beach, Florida.

Despite suffering the impact of Hurricane Sandy in the first hours of competition, the event which supports the World Skin Cancer Foundation was successfully run.

Blue sunny skies blessed all surfers out in the water. The Slater Brothers Invitational organized free skin cancer screenings, skateboarding activities and the classic surf contest.

Justin Quintal, from Jacksonville, took top honours against Tony Silvagni and was crowned winner of the longboard division. "You couldn't have asked for better conditions and it's cool they put on this contest and provide the free skin cancer testing for everyone", said Quintal.

CJ Hobgood returned in great shape to post a 10-point rider and claim the shortboard title. The surfer with the expression "To Write Love on Her Arms" in his surfboard is always happy to participate in events like these.

"This is my fourth or fifth time in this tournament. Sean kind of plans it so Kelly can be home and if Kelly's home, I'm normally home as well and then we leave tomorrow morning".
