Digiácomo Dias is never happy with a big challenge. After dropping into the 1,200-meter dunes of Cerro Blanco in Peru, the Brazilian sandboarder decided to test and study all the seven biggest sand dunes in the world.
The experience has already started in the dune of Toro Mata, in Peru, with its 1.084 meters. Dias will visit Mexico, China, South Africa, Egypt, Morocco, and the USA.
SurferToday.com published an article featuring the challenges of sand kiteboarders.
In order to conquer a sand dune, sandboarders have to reach the top of it, and that takes time and sweat. It's not an easy task, but you'll surely enjoy the ride.
"You've got to love what you do. You should start on smaller dunes. The walk is hard but helps your physical performance", tells Digiácomo Dias to Globo TV.
The rider started sandboarding in Florianopolis when he was 16 years old. Dias has already won more than 70 titles and was the first Brazilian to pull a double front flip.
Like mountain climbers, Digiácomo Dias wants his share in the history books. Meanwhile, the sandboarder is studying and analyzing his challenges to complete the goal with maximum security.
