Hard stand-up paddleboards (SUP) are difficult to transport and to store. But not this one.
Easy Eddy is a three-piece modular paddleboard that combines the convenience of an inflatable SUP with the performance of a standard fiberglass board.
The portable and virtually indestructible SUP was designed by Artech MPS, a Massachusetts-based startup with a love of being on the water.
"We found that stand-up paddleboards may be a lot of fun, but they can also be a hassle to store and transport," explains Dean Pariseau, co-founder of Artech MPS.
"Easy Eddy is split into three sections that can be connected together in less than 60 seconds."
Fits Inside Cars
Easy Eddy is made almost entirely out of reclaimed and recyclable high-density polyethylene (HDPE) and is equipped with a retractable fin that folds in for transportation.
Features also include a full-length deck pad, a sealed storage hatch, bungee straps for securing items that can get wet, an action camera mount, and even a water bottle receptacle.
The world's first lightweight paddleboard that easily collapses into three pieces will fit inside cars, boats, and elevators.
The 10'2'' collapsible, 240-liter hard SUP weighs 37 pounds (16.8 kilograms) and can be checked in as luggage at the airport.
It will retail at $1,049 by summer 2019.
