Adriano de Souza, Owen Wright, Jordy Smith and Filipe Toledo have secured spots on the quarterfinals of the Rip Rip Curl Pro Bells Beach 2015, in Australia.

Despite a few shock exits - Taj Burrow, John John Florence and Julian Wilson are out of the equation - the top seeds dominated Round 3. In the non-elimination heat, De Souza sent Kelly Slater and Josh Kerr to Round 5.

“Kelly and I went wave for wave, and somehow I got the best wave of the exchange. I'm so lucky to make it straight to the quarters, and I'm really proud of myself to make it this far," revealed the Brazilian surfer.

Owen Wright was one of the standouts of the day. He defeated Joel Parkinson and Gabriel Medina and moved through to the quarterfinals, equalling his best Bells result. Medina will face Slater in Round 5.

"I feel really comfortable here at Bells. Being in the Quarterfinals is definitely the platform for me to achieve here but I really to want to go further this year," added Wright.

Jordy Smith proved to be in lethal form. The South African confirmed a quarterfinal spot after winning his Round 4 heat against defending event winner Mick Fanning, and Nat Young.

"I made a few mistakes in that heat and if I can clean them up I will be happy. As the tide dropped, it seemed that every set got better. When the tide is low on The Bowl it gets really fun, and you can really lay down some big tracks," concluded Smith.
