The Wedge: Newport Beach's infamous wave delivering the goods on July 4, 2020

There's nothing like a holiday weekend to surf a maxed-out south swell at Newport Beach's The Wedge.

The infamous California surf break produced one of the best wave riding days of the last years, with dozens of surfers, bodyboarders, and skimboarders catching double-to-triple overhead mountains of water.

There were people taking off on soft-top surfboards and even well-known specialists risking their health on surfboard transfers.

The Wedge is like a raging bull - you never know what he will do next.

Sit back and enjoy. Watch Jamie O'Brien, Brad Domke, Kenny Kuypers, Blair Conklin, Tyler Thornsley, and many others getting barreled and wiping out in firing conditions.
