John John Florence has conquered the Oi Rio Pro 2016, in Rio de Janeiro.

Two flawless waves and a near-perfect performance. The young Hawaiian defeated Jack Freestone in a high-scoring final held in shifty four-to-six foot wave peaks, at Postinho.

Florence didn't wait too long and didn't go for the air. He attacked the face of the wave with powerful vertical approaches and critical hacks on the bumpy lips. With two rides scored in the 9-point range.

"I love coming back here to Rio. This is where I won my first World Championship Tour event. The waves are really similar to Hawaii with their power. Everyone here in Brazil has been so supportive. If it was not for everyone's support on the beach cheering us on every wave, I do not know if I would have been as stoked," expressed John John Florence.

"To be honest, I couldn't even hear the scores for a while. When there were 20 minutes left, I thought 'Jack is just going to do some huge air, and come back and get another one', so I just sat and waited for the best waves, and it ended up working out."

John John celebrates his third CT event victory, and now everybody wants to know what will he do next. Will Florence be focus on a potential world title? Will he just cruise around?

"I don't know if I'll achieve, but I'll try and take it heat by heat, event by event. Hopefully I will come out on top, but we will see."
