Josh Ker claimed the 2018 Four Seasons Maldives Surfing Champions Trophy at Kuda Huraa.

The Australian is the first surfer to ever win all three divisions at this specialty event sanctioned by the World Surf League (WSL).

Kerr kicked off his campaign in the Maldives beating former fellow Dream Tour surfer C.J. Hobgood and winning the single fin contest, in four-to-six-foot waves. He even landed an air-reverse.

"I was most nervous about the single fin because the waves were way bigger than what I thought my board could deal with, but it turned on in the conditions perfectly," said Kerr.

Twenty-four hours later, Kerr defeated Alejo Muniz in the twin-fin final held at Sultans. The former Championship Tour veteran got barreled and turned like if he was still competing at the highest level.

"I've been surfing on a twin-fin a lot recently so I was almost more nervous surfing because it was expected that I'd do well," noted Kerr.

The Maldivian challenge concluded with the thruster division. In the grand finale matchup against Muniz, Josh proved he was the standout surfer of the event by locking in a Perfect 10-point ride.

"It was an incredible event. The waves just got better every day. I never thought I'd get so barreled here in the Maldives. The concept of this event is really cool. I like surfing different boards these days, so I guess this is the perfect event for me," concluded Josh Kerr.
