Surfing Great Britain, the governing body for surfing in the United Kingdom, is being revamped and the event is an opportunity for Junior surfers - Under 18 and below - to perform for personal glory and represent their school.

The 2013 Calypso British Schools Surf Championships will also be relevant to a selection of the Juniors who will be battling for the 2013 Surfing GB Junior squad that will to travel to Nicaragua for the World Junior Games.

Over 100 juniors aged between 12 and 18, from over 30 schools across, will participate in the surfing event. England, Wales and The Channel Islands will be competing. There will be both team and individual competitions.

"Both the participation and performance levels of Junior Surfing throughout the UK is rapidly growing and events like this are a great opportunity for the surfers to show off their talents in a competitive but fun environment", says Nick Rees, Surfing GB project manager.

Each school or college can enter teams of up to 10 surfers and there are no restrictions on the amount of entrants in specific categories.
