Mitch Crews steals the Quiksilver Open Japan 2013

Mitch Crews has stormed the Quiksilver Open Japan 2013, the largest surfing event ever held in the country.

Tsurigasaki Beach, in Chiba, pumped bumpy 3-to-5 foot waves, with wind clearly affecting the overall performances.

The Semifinalists were all from Australia. Crews, with a combined score of 19.26, defeated Chapman. The second Semifinal saw Michael Wright taking out Davey Cathels with 17.80 against 16.33 points.

In the final heat, Mitch Crews pulled two excellent scores of 9.17 and 8.07 points to secure a total of 17.24 points and win the Quiksilver Open Japan.

The main venue of the event is located in Tsurigasaki Beach, Ichinomiya, also known as Shidashita Point, in Chiba, the surfing capital of Japan.
