New York Surf Film Festival announces 2012 movie line-up

The 2012 New York Surf Film Festival has announced the complete film selection program, to be screened between 19th-20th September, in New York City.

The US surf movie festival will showcase 13 feature films and 17 short films directed by filmmakers and set in locations from all corners of the globe.

"This year’s group of filmmakers exhibit extraordinary cinematic viewpoints, cohesive storytelling and unsurpassed mastery of the surf filmmaking craft,” says Morgan Rae Berk, Founder NYSFF.

"We are excited to celebrate our fifth anniversary bringing diverse surf film programming to the New York City surfing community", he adds.

The feature films set for the city that never sleeps are: "Dear Suburbia", "European Surf Journal", "Gauchos Del Mar", "Here and Now" "Jaws Changing the Game", "Promised Land", "Raw the Movie", "Sebastian Beach One Fine Day", "Surfing and Sharks", "The Africa Project", "The Find Claiming Nelscott Reef", "This Time Tomorrow" and "Through the Whisky Barrel".

The short films that will be seen in the 2012 New York Surf Film Festival are: "30 Days Without Surfing", "Away", "Bernie and Ges", "Fathoms Left to Fall", "Free Aloha", "Follow the Sun", "Itxasoa", "Kook Paradise", "Margaux", "Montauk Documentary", "Simon Anderson", "Stacked", "Upcycling", "Water Warriors", "WindanSea", "Wright Side of Wrong", "You Look Swell"

A special complimentary screening of Matt Warshaw's Enyclopedia of Surfing digital archive with historical and current film clips will be ongoing in the bar and lobby, with historical and current film clips.
