The Newquay Boardriders have taken out the 2016 British Interclub Surf Championships, held at Fistral Beach, in Cornwall.

Surf clubs represent an important role in British surfing culture, and that is why the British Interclub Surf Championships are so popular. Once again, some of the country's most talented wave riders showcased their skills for two days.

Surfers from nine clubs competed across three divisions: Open, Women, and Junior. The Royal Navy Royal Marines Boardriders Club and Army Surfing also lightened up the competition.

On the first day of competition, surfers were greeted with strong winds and three-foot surf. Richie Mullins and Hannah Harding stood out in the expression session.

On the second day, Fistral Beach delivered glassy waves in the morning and moderate onshore winds for the afternoon surf. In the end, the Newquay Boardriders claimed two of the three titles.
