Orlando Surf Park: producing chest to shoulder high waves with ride lengths of 30-40 yards

SurfParks are pleased to announce that their extensive Surf Pool redesign process has successfully concluded, and they are finally equipped to bring world class waves to Orlando.

In an effort to balance the increased costs of completing the Surfpark with getting you wet as quickly as possible, we are closely examining a plan to launch the Ron Jon Surfpark in two phases.

Phase 1 will include a mid-sized Surf Pool producing chest to shoulder high waves with ride lengths of 30-40 yards. The wave will be a right-hander with some tubing and high performance sections.

Phase 1 will also include a deep-water Flowrider, for use with real surfboards and bodyboards, a surf school, a bar/restaurant fronting the Surf Pool, a beach for hanging out and watching the surfing, and an event stage to host concerts/special events for up to 1,000 people.

Phase 2 will open a year or two after Phase 1, completing the Surfpark site by adding the larger Pro Pool (6-8 foot waves; 60-80 yard rides) and enhanced viewing, dining, and retail facilities.

Stay tuned to this site for more frequent updates on our progress. The first Surfpark, the Ron Jon SurfparkSM, is currently under construction at Festival Bay Mall in Orlando Florida, and is expected to open in early 2009. We are also evaluating several locations for future parks, including Southern California and New York City, among many others.
