Red Bull Night Riders will once again treat thousands of Jacksonville Beach surf fans to one of the premier contests on the East Coast.

On November 22, six elite surfers will be given 15 minutes each to pull their best trick under the moonlit sky.

Towed at the wave by jet ski, the surfers are given the momentum to get a huge amount of airtime to execute eye-catching moves.

Some of these high-flying maneuvers have never been seen before at many other competitions in the Atlantic waves.

Participants this year include former Championship Tour surfer Cory Lopez; siblings and previous Red Bull Night Riders winners Evan, Cody, and Tristan Thompson; New York's Balaram Stack; and Eric Geiselman.

10,000 Spectators

The Thompson brothers, who all have Night Riders wins, are Jacksonville Beach natives. Cody, a two-time winner, is stoked to be back on his home turf in such a unique competition.

"The Night Riders format provides an amazing experience for both the surfers and spectators that can't be matched at any other surfing event," said Cody Thompson.

"I'm honored to be invited back and excited to put on a show in front of the home crowd!"

His brother Evan echoed his sentiment: "It's the only event where you really feel the energy and excitement from the crowd."

Surfers will be judged by a panel of their peers, including surf legend C.J. Hobgood, Asher Nolan, and Blake Jones, with the winner taking home the entire cash prize of $5,000.

The crowd will be especially hyped this year, with nearly 10,000 spectators expected to catch the action at Jacksonville Beach on the night of Friday, November 22.

The event is free for all.
