Sharks have already killed hundreds of surfers and swimmers worldwide. The new Sharkbanz wristband presents itself as an effective protection against the predators' attack.

Nathan and David Garrison, founders of Sharkbanz, truly believe in their product. They've partnered with Shark Defense to deliver a widely accessible wristband that successfully deters the most common predatory shark species.

"It is important for us to be honest about what Sharkbanz technology can and can not do. Sharkbanz will reduce the risk of shark interactions, but there is no 100% guarantee that interactions will not take place," the company underlines.

Sharkbanz entrepreneurs and marine researchers have been studying sharks for almost two decades. The wristband beams magnetic waves that disrupt the shark's electro-receptors and make him turn away.

Sharks are curious about people. That is why, in many cases, they just "hit and run"; they bite and swim away. With a Sharkbanz in your wrist or ankle, the gadget's magnetic field will keep the Bull, Blacktip, Oceanic Whitetip, Nurse, Lemon, Caribbean Reef, Hammerhead, and the Bonnethead away.

The Great White is the only shark that acts as an ambush predator, attacking from a long distance at high speed. Sharkbanz may deter a Great White, but there is still no effective way to prevent this type of ambush attack.
