Surfing Queensland

Following the success of their innovative online payment system, Surfing Queensland today launched a dynamic and user-friendly website that will transform the way the wider surfing community benefits from the State body and its resources.

The new Surfing Queensland website seamlessly combines the innovative online payment system with a number of cutting edge web based technologies, all integrated into an easy to use and visually stimulating interface.

While the site has been designed to be both technologically and creatively dynamic, the core purpose of the site is to deliver important content for the general public, amateur surf enthusiasts and professional surfers.

At surfers of all ages and ability levels can access events across the state. Add to that online membership, information on coaching, judging, surf schools, the latest surf news from around the globe, uber-cool videos, and boardriding clubs in a simple, easy-to-navigate manner.

Surfing Queensland has also aligned with surf forecasting gurus Coastalwatch to provide daily surf reports for both the Gold and Sunshine Coast, along with up-to-the-minute news updates from Australia’s Surfing Life (ASL) magazine’s website.

Surfing Queensland Operations Manager Mark Winson is pleased to be launching the new site.

“In this day and age it's important that members and the general public have instant access to the latest information about the sport of surfing,” he said.

“The new site is groundbreaking in providing an integrated secure gateway payment system with immediate confirmation of entry into events, membership, coaching courses and judging courses.”

The customised software provides many administrative advantages such as guarding against over filling competitions, archiving event results and images and most importantly allows world wide access to Surfing Queensland's services. The site's sophistication is a credit to 2Creative, a Gold Coast based web design and development studio.

The governing body for the sport of surfing in Queensland has a professional events management department who coordinate and deliver surfing events almost every weekend of the year, whilst having over 4000 affiliated members and hundreds of direct financial members.

Thanks to the upgrade, Surfing Queensland now boasts a streamlined site that exceeds rising event and membership demands.

Whether they’re thinking of joining as a member or entering their first competition, the new site assists the average Joe by providing him or her with the latest information and an easy online payment gateway to either enter or join, or both.

Surfing Queensland was established in 1964 to develop the sport of surfing in Queensland. Today, Surfing Queensland is a rapidly expanding sporting association committed to servicing the community at large.

Surfing Queensland’s present geographic coverage ranges from Coolangatta to Mackay.
