Taylor Clark: the best US amateur surfer in 2013

Taylor Clark, from Encinitas, took the premier Open Men's final at the 2013 NSSA National Championships, held in Huntington Beach, California. He had already stolen the Surfing America USA Championships.

The classic event held by the National Scholastic Surfing Association in Surf City, USA, presented the future of surfing.

Getting airborne is easy, when you're under 16. Taylor Clark pulled everything he had in his arsenal. Airs, aerials and flights for all tastes.

"I've been making it through my heats, but that's all I've been doing," revealed Clark.

"Once I was in the final, I was gonna go for it - no more just making my heat. When I did that one air I was super stoked to land it. That kind of made me relax a bit."

The young man from Encinitas is surely the best amateur surfer in the entire USA, and he will surprise many surf fans in the coming years.
