The 2016 World Surf League (WSL) Qualifying Series (QS) is over. Check out who secured a golden spot on the 2017 Dream Tour.

The surfing marathon is over. For thousands of QS campaigners, it's time to do the math, and analyze what went well and what went wrong. The Championship Tour (CT) is a restricted club with room for only ten QS warriors.

However, when the top 10 QS list features surfers that have requalified via CT, new vacancies open for a few lucky athletes.

The 2016 Men's Qualifying Series ranking is closed. Six QS surfers and four CT riders have guaranteed a spot on the 2017 Men's Championship Tour. They are Connor O'Leary, Ethan Ewing, Frederico Morais, Joan Duru, Leonardo Fioravanti, Ian Gouveia (QS), as well as Kanoa Igarashi, Jeremy Flores, Jadson Andre, and Jack Freestone (CT).

However, and because these four CT surfers will have a chance to improve their position in the CT rankings via Pipeline Masters, they can still open new spots for the athletes ranked below the QS Top 10.

The most dramatic situation involves Ezekiel Lau. The Hawaiian talent finished his QS season in 11th place, just 50 points short of Jack Freestone.

In theory, the game isn't over, and the performance of Igarashi, Flores, Andre, and Freestone will decide whether there will be more new faces coming up from the QS field on next year's CT.

Last but not least, the wildcard politics will eventually confirm the final roster for the 2017 Dream Tour.
