The Wave Bristol is expected to open its doors to the public in Autumn 2019, in England.
The country's second wave pool powered by Wavegarden will also be the first featuring the company's latest technology, The Cove.
The team behind The Wave released today its first series of surf slots.
The general public can now book tickets to surf from November 18, 2019, to March 4, 2020. Tickets will go live at midday on August 20.
The Wave Bristol is finishing the construction works and will be testing the waves between September and October.
The goal is to open to the public for a warm-up phase in November.
The man behind The Wave - which is also expected to open in London - is Nick Hounsfield, an osteopath with a passion for surfing.
"The project has always been about more than just surfing - it's about getting people outside, back in touch with nature, in the water and improving their health and wellbeing," notes Hounsfield.
Six-Foot Waves
The Wave Bristol is a £26 million facility that aims to bring the joy of surfing to people of all ages, abilities, and backgrounds.
The inland wave pool will produce 1,000 of varying sizes and shapes per hour, i.e., around a wave every 10 seconds. Wave height starts at 1.6 feet (50 centimeters) and peaks at six feet (1.8 meters).
The Wave will be the first destination in the northern hemisphere to offer a full-size Wavegarden Cove lake that's open to the public.
Bristol's surf pool will be in its warm-up phase until the end of the year.
Although there will still be work taking place on some of the landscaping around the 70-acre site, the aquatic environment will be pumping waves, and the clubhouse will be ready.
The team has decided to open the doors to allow people to surf during this time and provide feedback on their experience.
A surf session at The Wave Bristol will cost £40-45 for an adult and £30-35 for a child, depending on the time of year and day of the week.
A 1.5-hour surf coaching session will cost £55-60 for an adult and £45-50 for a child.
