Magnetic Surfboard Rack: an easy-to-set-up solution for your car roof

A group of Spanish surf entrepreneurs developed an innovative magnetic surfboard car rack.

The team behind Giraffe wanted to create an easy-to-set-up solution that allowed them to drive their cars at the maximum speed limit (120 km/h or 75 mph) and transport their surfboards on top of their vehicles with maximum safety.

Installing a surfboard car rack can take a while, and when you're anxious to hit the water, you can make a lot of mistakes. If you don't do it, in the worst-case scenario, your boards will fly off the car and hit people and other vehicles.

But the new surfboard car rack is a time-saving miracle. It uses four flexible magnetic rubber bases that stick to any car roof like glue, and you won't have straps inside the car.

"Our Magnetic Surfboard Rack is easily removable so that the problems of increased fuel consumption and noise coming from the fixed roof racks are avoided, and an improvement is achieved in the functional and visual appearance when comparing with existing devices," Giraffe says in their Kickstarter presentation.

The new surfboard rack system also includes two high-density foam supports, high-quality cinch straps with rubberized buckles, and a carrying bag.
