Joel Parkinson: Perfect 10

Kelly Slater, Mick Fanning, Joel Parkinson and Michel Bourez. The Semifinalists of the Quiksilver Pro Gold Coast 2013 have been defined, at Snapper Rocks.

Parkinson posted the first Perfect 10 of the event by adding unmatched style, power and versatility to the clean three-to-four foot (1.5 metre) waves on offer.

"That was an amazing heat to be in. Julian is one of the most exciting surfers in world. Even with a 10, you're never safe with him", revealed Joel Parkinson, who will face Michel Bourez in the opening Semifinal of the Quiksilver Pro Gold Coast 2013.

Kelly Slater posted an excellent 18.03 out of a possible 20 point, in a momentum-building display against Bede Durbidge and will face Mick Fanning.

"Mick and I have a lot of history together. We both put our competitive heads on during events and he has a lot of experience out here. The home town crowd will be backing him big time and that's always fun. Should be a good heat", express the 41-year old Floridian.

Fanning took a win over compatriot Matt Wilkinson. "Wilko has really been on point this event and has been amazing on his backhand. He’s a friend. The waves were pretty fun and I was able to loosen up later in the heat after putting some scores on the board".
