Wavegarden: good, but not enough

Wavegarden has created a buzz all over the world. The special announcement would change the world of surfing, forever. Still, we need to see more.

Real-time artificial waves are an old promise, but the surfer's dream never really came to life, except in the iconic surfing game Kelly Slater's Pro Surfer, in which great waves are pumped in an indoor wave pool.

In February 2013, Wavegarden announced that the construction works of their new facility in the Basque Country was finished and engineers were in the final tuning stage.

Now, the Basque Country company releases a teaser that shows two surfers riding one single wave. Fun, they say. It's a shoulder-high ride, but we're not allowed to see more until June 10th.

Taj Burrow, Gabriel Medina, Dane Reynolds, Pauline Ado, Jeremy Flores, Damien Fahrenfort, Aritz Aranburu and Craig Anderson tells us that the experience is worth the wait. Functional, fun, speedy and perfect for learning how to surf.

Meanwhile, take a look at the best artificial wave pool concepts in development throughout the world. You might find a solution for your unused apartment terrace.
