John John Florence has conquered the 2011 Triple Crown of Surfing. He was the best surfer in the overall three stage surf jewelry of Haleiwa, Sunset Beach and Banzai Pipeline. But, who is this John John Florence?
John John Florence was born on the 18th November 1992, in Honolulu, Hawaii. He is 6'0" (183 cm) and weighs 168 lbs (76.2 kg). The natural footer lives in the North Shore of Oahu and already has a full line of sponsors: O'Neill, Vans, Spy, Nixon, Monster, Future Fins, Dakine and Jack's Surf Shop.
The Hawaiian prodigy is know for an agile surfing style, as well as by building a full range of aerial moves and tricks. John John Florence, 19, has a magical surfboard: 5'11" x 18 1/4" x 2 1/4".
He is usually seen training in Pipeline, his favourite surf spot. John John loves getting barreled and gets inspired by his mother, Tom Curren and Andy Irons.
The 2011 Triple Crown of Surfing suits him very well. A new world surfing is in the making. "A fifth at Haleiwa, a win at Sunset, a fifth here and the Vans Triple Crown title, it's pretty much been the best winter of my life," said Florence.
"There are some incredible names on this trophy. I'm so stoked to be here and to have won this. I've been surfing these waves my entire life and watching everyone over the years. To have my name with the great surfers who has won the Triple Crown, it's incredible. I just want to say thanks to my mum and Pancho Sullivan and John Pyzel and all my sponsors"
