In January 2013, António Silva caught one of the biggest waves of his life.

But the world was obsessed with the classic surfing stars. The giant wave caught at Praia do Norte put the Portuguese in a silent room, isolated from the big wave surfing arena.

Fortunately, justice has been made.

Rob Bain, Layne Beachley, and Dave Macaulay have taken out the Azores Airlines World Masters Championship in the Grand Masters, Women's Masters and Men's Masters divisions held in good three-foot surf at Praia de Santa Barbara.
