John John Florence: he developed his duck diving technique in a swimming pool

John John Florence developed a very peculiar duck dive technique and shared it with the world.

The Hawaiian surfing talent created a workout routine that improves his duck diving skills in big waves. The training scheme involves using legs, arms, and body weight.

If you're training it in the pool as Florence does, remove your fins first. Remember that it's harder to get into the water and below waves in salt water.

The "Hollywood Shuffle" style will certainly inspire many surfers worldwide. Or maybe not.

So, what exactly does JJF do?

He pushes the board into the water using his arms and knee. Then, he uses his legs and arms to keep the surfboard as low as he can possibly.

The goal is to prevent the board from coming up and resurfacing.

For that to happen, you need to apply all the strength and weight on the board. Simultaneously, kick your legs to keep the body well under the surface.
