The Seagaia Ocean Dome was the world's first surf pool. The structure was built as part of the Sheraton Seagaia Resort, in Miyazaki, Japan.

The complex opened in 1993, and produced man-made waves and real barrels. Two years later, Seagaia was already being visited by around 1.25 million people. In October 2007, it was shut down as part of the resort's renovation.
