Cory Teunissen: one of the best riders of the Supra Boats Pro Wakeboard Tour

The 25th-anniversary edition of the Supra Boats Pro Wakeboard Tour (PWT) will take place in four new venues.

The longest-running professional wakeboarding circuit in the United States will showcase 16 riders competing for titles in four different states - Alabama, Utah, Colorado, and Ohio.

The eight highest-ranked wake specialists from 2016 have already pre-qualified for the 2017 season. Mike Dowdy (2016 PWT champion), Nic Rapa (2016 Rookie of the Year), and Cory Teunissen are on this shortlist.

Then, there will be eight spots available for the best performances at the qualifying event on May 12. Supra Boats SA550 is the official boat of the 2017 Pro Wakeboard Tour.

“This is the strongest venue line-up for the Pro Wakeboard Tour in years. Each lake is ideal, with perfect water conditions for our athletes and comfortable amenities for the audience," notes Rick Tinker, president of Supra Boats.

The Supra Boats Pro Wakesurf Tour, which saw a 30 percent year-over-year growth from 2012 to 2015, is also running and crowning a champion in 2017. Noah Flegel, Parker Payne, and Aaron Witherell are already qualified.
