Pros N' Joes: wakeboard fever

The 6th Annual Pros N' Joes will return to Okeeheelee Park, West Palm Beach, Florida, on the 10th November 2012.

The nonprofit South Florida Wake Association puts on the Pros N' Joes event, created by the founder Jimmy Beno. This year's directors Kimberlee and Rishy Rajoo have taken over the reigns, with Troy Wynne as contest director.

The event is designed to give amateur wake riders in South Florida the opportunity to, not only meet pro-level wakeboarders and wakeskaters, but to ride with them as well.

Also, it will keep making Palm Beach County relevant in wake related sports, with wakeboarding in the 2020 Olympics in mind.

The 6th Annual Pros N' Joes is designed to be a family event that will attract both hard-core wake enthusiasts and the casual observers. A large number of spectators is expected throughout the day and a portion of the proceeds will benefit Surfers for Autism.

The Pros N' Joes event is a unique concept in the world of competitive wakeboarding and wakeskating. For each pro rider, there will be three local amateurs that will make up the pro riders team.

Pros that have committed to this year's event are Nick Taylor, Rusty Malinosky, Shawn Watson, Tara Mikacich, Scott Stewart, Ben Horan, Steel Lafferty, Josh Palma, Brandon Thomas, Julian Cohen, Andrew Shearer.

Waves are constantly breaking all over the world, and if you're on a surf trip or family vacations it's always good to know you can rent a surfboard anywhere there's a gem to be ridden.
